On Getting the Most out of Your Carp Fishing

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 12:15 am

Fishing for carp is a rather enjoyable hobby because these fish are really intelligent and don’t take bait too easily. However, with some guile, you can lure carp and trick them into being your latest catch. Here are just some useful tips to help you when fishing for carp:-

  • Bring boilies that are fishmeal-based in the finer weather (summer and autumn), and try your hand with half-half mixes or birdfood bait in the winter and spring seasons
  • Experiment by mixing spicy chillies to particle baits. The carp fish seem to enjoy that fiery “kick” from the chillies. Approximately, add a couple of tablespoons to 5 litres particles.
  • In the wintertime when the water is cold, try throwing your rigs a little more often, and target various areas so you can set a hook bait close to the fish. Cold water slows down the movements of carp therefore there’s less chance for the fish to swim towards your bait. In the warmer months, you can position traps in likely patrolling locations and wait for the carp to find the bait.
  • Add high sources of vitamin C to the bait. Stir your method with orange juice as opposed to water from the lake. Also experiment with soaking fresh boilies in fruit juice in order to give that distinct flavour.
  • Whenever you can, try not to use round shaped bait. Numerous lines sport rounded bait, you want to be different. Experiment with squaring up the hook bait with scissors.
  • Lastly, make sure you have the right fishing gear with you. Research what you should bring online. You can find all kinds of things online, such as carp fishing rods – and make sure you enjoy the experience!
