AT&T TV Came to Our Town

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 11:26 pm

I have had ATT TV service put in for over a week so far. An similar package through any cable provider would be almost twice what I am paying AT T’s TV service. I greatly respect U-Verse providing a great complete package that stops from nailing customers with a bunch of unncecessary charges. 3 receivers (1 with DVR capabilities) are added in the price.

HD embedded for free for one year – only $10 per year after the promotional point terminates… not poor considering U-Verse provides at least twice the number of HD ATT TV channels which cable gets you.

Channel switching is surprisingly instant. Almost as rapid as our old cable. On Demand (Pay-per-view) content is fine but not on par with the selection provided by other providers. I had a get together the night after set up – they wanted to view MMA
Boxing, but U-Verse wasn’t carrying it. When I called, the rep I spoke with had received many similar calls.

Equipment mostly functions as publicized. Right now, there are only 4 TV flows available in the Houston market. I have only run out of streams once – even after transposing all 42 of my series recordings from my Comcast box! (You can access some of your DVR’s settings from your personal U-Verse AT&T website – solid feature). I do not have high def, thus no HD package. Viewing an HD channel takes up 2 streams – the remaining flows can only be used for standard definition channels. It seems, a upping in the quantity of TV streams set to occur for the end of the spring. Also, AT&T will be bringing the capability to see DVR shows from any receiver.
