Planning To Ship A Consignment – Shipping Things 101

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 8:59 am

As human beings are advancing day by day the world is squeezing or shrinking. It is not just easy for the humans to commute from one part of the world to another but also to send the goods or packages from place to place. Shipping thus perhaps stands as one of the best way to shift one’s cargo.

Shipping is meant for all sorts of goods preferably the heavy, immovable ones, which cannot be easily moved like machines, household goods, vehicles etc. These goods are safely packed in large picked up from one’s place through lifts and safely packed in containers. A container is a huge box of metal. There are a variety of sizes of containers or boxes. Usually they vary from the kind of package to be transported. The shipping company one selects and provides its own containers and also insurance for the goods packed by them i.e. only the professionally packed goods. The customer should not go by the little increment in his bill due to insurance for insurance saves from many expected and unexpected pitfalls. Thus it is recommendable to get your shipment insured.

There are various shipping companies like UPPS, FED EX etc. The efficiency of a company firstly lies in its speedy delivery of goods. The lesser number of days a company takes reduces the chances of one’s packages to get naturally deteriorated, damaged etc. However time limit is not the only parameter to adjudicate a company’s competency. There are certain other factors too viz. the company should be a registered one, preferably having a good name earned in this field. Then the kind of packing the company does of the goods like cleaning of the tools before packing, many companies also provide some other aids of the sort- plastic covering to wooden furniture before keeping it in a container etc. What is also to be noted is the amount of insurance the company provides for professionally packed goods, the safe delivery of goods which includes the technique of loading and unloading the goods and the place where the goods will be delivered (i.e. at one’s residence or at some centralized place) and finally the costs involved.

There are certain primary things to be acknowledged before shipping one’s goods. The material you send for shipment should be keeping in mind the weather conditions. If the weather is rough, don’t be in a hurry to send your shipment for it can be risky. Next an enumeration of things or parcels should be done carefully and the list should be handed over to the agent with the container. It should also be facilitated with the sender’s name, his address, the receiver’s name and address and his contact number along with the date on which it is sent.

Only those items that can survive the duration of transportation should be shipped. One should also see the clearance of various taxes and duties like custom duties, export-import duties, shipping duties etc. All documentation should be clearly checked and verified before shipping the material. People are often advised to ship their equipments through a company which along with the before mentioned attributes has skilled and perfect labour involved in this task since a mistake on any worker’s part can run into a great loss of wealth and property.

“Hence if you are little responsible and cautious, shipping is the convenient and dependable mode to make your goods travel all around the world.”

On Fate

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 9:48 pm

Sometimes I hear the words, “if they’re really meant to be…” and I would want to barf or do whatever uncharacteristically unhumorously evil thing a cynic like me would do.

If they’re really meant to be– is just like saying, “whatever fate or destiny decides or say so… goes.”

That is crap, in my opinion.

Why oh why the heck do you submit yourselves into the command of some invisible, uncontrollable force that’s powered by mere chance?!

Thus, implying that whatever good or bad happens in our life– is not our doing…?

We’re DESIGNED, not DESTINED– and though some may not see a significant difference between the two words… they don’t mean the same thing…

Moving Tips

Moving Tips: Easing the Transition to Your New Home

Use the right boxes, and pack them carefully

Professional moving companies use only sturdy, reinforced cartons. The boxes you can get at your neighborhood supermarket or liquor store might be free, but they are not nearly as strong or padded, and so can’t shield your valuables as well from harm in transit.

Use sheets, blankets, pillows and towels to separate pictures and other fragile objects from each other and the sides of the carton. Pack plates and glass objects vertically, rather than flat and stacked.

Be sure to point out to your mover the boxes in which you’ve packed fragile items, especially if those items are exceptionally valuable. The mover will advise you whether those valuables need to be repacked in sturdier, more appropriate boxes.

The heavier the item, the smaller the box it should occupy. A good rule of thumb is if you can’t lift the carton easily, it’s too heavy. Label your boxes, especially the one containing sheets and towels, so you can find everything you need the first night in your new home.

For your family’s safety and comfort

Teach your children your new address. Let them practice writing it on packed cartons. You can lighten your load and reduce any storage space you need to rent by hosting a garage or yard sale.

Fill two “OPEN ME FIRST” cartons containing snacks, instant coffee or tea bags, soap, toilet paper, toothpaste and brushes, medicine and toiletry items (make sure caps are tightly secured), flashlight, screwdriver, pliers, can opener, paper plates, cups and utensils, a pan or two, paper towels, and any other items your family can’t do without. Ask your van foreman to load one of these boxes, so that it will be unloaded at your new home first. Why the second box? In case the movers are delayed getting to your house on the day of the move.

Keep your pets out of packing boxes and away from all the activity on moving day.

Let all your electrical gadgets return to room temperature before plugging them in.

Since you may need to call old neighbors or businesses from your new home, pack your phone book.

Work hand in hand with your mover. Give the mover’s foreman your reach numbers and email addresses so you can stay in contact.

Read the inventory form carefully, and ask the mover to explain anything you don’t understand. Make a note of your shipment’s registration number, and keep your Bill of Lading handy.

If you’re moving long distance, be aware that your property might share a truck with that of several other households. For this reason, your mover might have to warehouse your furniture and belongings for several days. Therefore, ask your mover whether your goods will remain on the truck until delivered. If they have to be stored, ask whether you can check the warehouse for security, organization and cleanliness.

Maybe it’s time to get an affordable copy machine!

Maybe it’s time to get an affordable copy machine!

How does a copy machine end up on an entrepreneur’s shopping list? When your Kinko’s bill starts to dwarf your other expenses, that’s a good time to start shopping for a copy machine. When employees are sing inkjets (and expensive consumables) to run off lots of multiple pages, that’s a sign you might need a copier. When your business gets big enough and your needs demand it, it’s time to check into some new hardware. The ultimate goal is to reduce costs and gain productivity time by handling copying in-house.

Digital copiers have been slowly sweeping the old fashioned analog copiers away. One side benefit of moving into the digital realm is that these copiers usually incorporate printing and scanning functions as well. That can help in situations where space is at a premium and those other functions are useful. Affordable pricing also puts these copiers in range of any business budget.

Networking capability and the amount of memory are features to look for when shopping for copiers. Some of the less-expensive digital copiers aren’t network-ready but can be upgraded. As for memory, you don’t want your machine to suffer a brain freeze in the middle of a big job. The 32MB in the Sharp and Brother copiers make sure that won’t happen. But the standard memory shipped with most copiers is adequate for most tasks and can be upgraded to handle harder assignments.

Also look into the wait time until the first copy. With the Xerox WorkCentre, for example, it takes just over nine seconds to warm up and get that initial page out.

A copy machine is something that every office and small business needs. Choose wisely and your businesses output will increase.

The Immune-Boosting Power of Colostrum

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 1:35 pm

Bovine Colostrum is the form of “milk” taken from dairy cows, within 24 hours of giving birth to a calf. The liquid is known for its high protein immunoglobulin and antibody contents, and numerous immune and growth factors that can be highly beneficial to humans.

Although many animals have some sort of colostrum, a lot of scientific research conducted in the last decade has shown that the combination of immune and growth factors in bovine colostrum are almost identical to those in human colostrum. Research has also shown that the substance of bovine colostrum is not species specific, and can work effectively to benefit humans as well as other mammals.

Colostrum is highly beneficial to humans because of the fact that once puberty has passed, out bodies gradually produce less and less of the important immune and growth factors that help us heal damaged body tissue, and fight off dangerous diseases. It is due in part to the loss of these essential immune components, our bodies age and eventually die. Colostrum is the only completely natural source of these vital components, and has demonstrated the ability to kill viruses and bacteria, stimulate tissue repair (especially that of the bowel lining), stimulate fat utilization for fuel, optimize cellular reproduction, and ultimately slow down the aging process.

Taking Colostrum is especially important for those persons who were not breast fed at birth. Those of us who were formula fed, and missed out on the natural benefits of breast-feeding may have immune and digestive systems that are somewhat compromised. Colostrum can help in restoring these systems to optimal functioning levels, no matter how old we are.
