Freedom of Apartment Living

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 5:45 am

You have probably heard about the booming housing market the past few years. Now more than ever it is easier to own a home. This is great, however it isn’t for everybody. The average single professional is not ready to sign up for 30 years of mortgage payments.

The benefits of apartment living out weigh the benefits of owning a house for either the young married couple or the single professional. One of the greatest benefits is the freedom to relocate. The freedom to locate means greater career opportunities or promotions that may be offered in another city or state.

Owning a home is synonymous to settling down. Many young adults out of college are honing their skills learned in college for their career and the last thing on their minds are settling down. Renting or leasing an apartment allows for growth. It allows the young professional to save money for the future and start their credit history.

Apartment living offers new opportunities not only in career but lifestyle as well. One great advantage is the concentration of people. Many of the apartment complexes today offer amenities that would not be possible when owning a home. Apartment complexes offer security with gated access, relaxation with pools, convenience with laundry, no hassle utilities like cable and internet access, and a built in neighborhood that any suburb would be envious of.

Depending on where you are in life’s pursuits, the advantages of apartment living provides great opportunities and growth. Rent an apartment today and enjoy the stress free lifestyle that enables you to take the time to decide, the freedom to locate, and the benefit of well being.

Residual Income Awaits Only by Staying in the Game

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 1:36 am

“Freedom is a scent, like the top of a new born baby’s head.” This is so very true when you think about the whole Internet marketing scenario. It’s a common concept that people think of financial freedom by owning their own successful business. This may be true but I don’t agree with it 100%.

For example, lets say, you owned a successful IT business
8-10 years ago and it was extremely successful. All of a
sudden because of the global downturn, it bottomed out and you
started to lose money as quick as you were making it.

Are you financially secure now with residual income? I don’t think so!

Internet marketing is so very different in the respect that if you stay in the game long enough to build a successful down line, you will eventually be financially secure. Ok you may say that a downturn may hit Internet marketing also but if you research the market, Internet marketing has boomed since it has evolved. It is here to stay. Once you get the scent that residual income awaits, you will start to devote all your energy and more into achieving your dream. Internet marketing gives you financial freedom that no other company type can offer. You could go on vacation for 2 months, return and see that your commissions might have grown in the
meantime! Financial freedom for me is earning while on vacation, while sleeping, while in hospital, 24 hours around the clock.

The one drawback that you probably have guessed is positioning yourself
to earn this residual income. This definitely is the hardest part and where
the biggest percentage of opt-out’s occur. What you have to understand is
that the payoff for the patience and time you put in initially
to get your business off the ground is huge. There have been a lot of instances where an affiliate opted out in the initial stages because he did not think the progress was where it should have been. It transpired thereafter, that if he had remained in the game, since he had sponsored energetic affiliates, he would have earned huge residual income from their efforts. He solely needed to maintain his position. I wonder does he have trouble sleeping at night! It may take 6-12 months before you register a profit in your business, but freedom awaits you if you stay committed. Don’t end up being the guy that decided to opt out and has regretted it ever since.

I reiterate residual income awaits you only by staying in the game.

Home Equity Loan – Home Theater Adds Fun and Value

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 10:38 pm

In days gone by, the family typically spent their evenings watching television in the den or living room, crowded around a black and white television set that may have measured no more than nineteen inches in diagonal size. For decades, this scenario was pretty much the same in most American homes, with the only change being the replacement of black and white televisions with color models. This worked fine for many years, when most cities only had two or three stations, and most homes didn’t have cable television. With the introduction of high definition television (HDTV), DVD movies, high performance surround sound systems, and affordable video projectors and flat-screen plasma displays, many homeowners would like to have a dedicated room, or home theater, for audio-video use. In today’s housing climate, adding a home theater to your home is a smart move.

Few homes have a room that is naturally suited to use as a home theater. Most rooms that might be used for such purposes either have a fireplace or inappropriately located windows. By building a dedicated home theater, the homeowner can build a room that suits the specific needs of audio video systems – limited outside light, darker-colored walls, a mounted screen or plasma TV, and special wiring inside the walls, where it cannot be seen.

Adding space to your home is a bullish move, and the extra square footage will add value to your property. You can finance the construction with a home equity loan or line of credit, which allows you to deduct the interest from your tax return. And the inclusion of a theater in your house may make the home easier to sell in the future, as more and more families are finding a theater to be a useful feature to have in a home. If you are not sure about how to go about designing such a room, you might check the Yellow Pages for stores that sell audio and video equipment. They can provide you with information regarding what kind of equipment you might need, wiring requirements and so on. They might also be able to recommend a contractor who can do the work for you.

The introduction of affordable big-screen televisions and HDTV has made a home theater THE must-have home accessory. With interest rates still at affordable rates, now is a great time to add that dedicated viewing room that will make you the envy of your neighborhood when the next Super Bowl comes around.

Acupuncture – Don’t Be Afraid Of Needles

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 4:32 pm

Lots of times, how people deal with an ailment, depends on their incomes. People with plenty of money may go visit the doctor whenever their bodies feel abnormal. People with very little money will probably wait until an ailment becomes a major problem before they think about visiting a doctor. The medical and drug industries are very lucrative and for the most part, they work hand and hand. Neither industry would like it, if their patients found other ways to deal with their health problems. There have been quite a few alternative medicines, offered to the public, over the years, but one of the oldest is acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a technique used to heal the body, by inserting and adjusting needles, into specific acupuncture points. The theory behind acupuncture is to let out excess energy or blood, by making holes in the body along certain pathways, called meridians. Sometimes it’s required to let out blood and not energy; while other times, the energy gets let out and not blood. There is an assumption, that diseases enter the body, through the skin. So, if a needle can be inserted into the body, at the same level of the disease, then the disease could be let out.

Acupuncture started in China, more than 2000 years ago. Because of improved communications, Chinese medicine made its way into Japan, during the 6th century. In the 17th century, Sugiyama created the insertion tube, which is the tube that needles are inserted through. Acupuncture reached the West, in the early 1900s, by way of France. By 1950, acupuncture was known all over Europe, but it wasn’t until the 1970s, that America started to recognize it. The first acupuncture clinic, opened in Washington, D.C., in 1972.

Acupuncture can help treat a lot of different illnesses by relieving the pain associated with the illness. Some of the conditions that can benefit from acupuncture are, menopause, diarrhoea, chronic pain, anxiety and high blood pressure. Acupuncture may not apply to all problems, so people need to make sure their illness will benefit from the treatment. Also, breast implants, pregnancy, a pacemaker and drugs, may increase the danger of using acupuncture.

Although acupuncture has been an accepted form of treatment, for many years, it still involves a certain amount of risks. A hematoma or nerve damage could occur, if the wrong body parts are punctured. Brain damage or stroke is possible, with deep needling at the base of the skull. If needles aren’t properly sterilized, then diseases could be transferred. Side effects from using acupuncture, are actually considered lower than using conventional treatments, but it’s important that the public knows that there are risks to consider before they choose acupuncture.

Acupuncture was not a widely accepted treatment, when it began. It took many years for people to even consider it as a form of medicine. Although medicine has made many advances over the years, there’s still a market for non-conventional treatments. Acupuncture has proven its effectiveness over the years and now, many people gladly choose acupuncture over conventional treatments.

Horsehair Jewelry

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 12:49 pm

Horsehair jewelry is a unique kind of adornment that is elegant and at the same time holds a lot of meaning for the wearer. For those who love horses, jewelry made of horsehair is a mark of their fondness for the wonderful animals. At the same time, horsehair jewelry is a perfect accompaniment for Western wear. For horse owners, custom-made horsehair jewelry is a treasured souvenir that is made of the hair of their own beloved equine.

Horsehair jewelry is made from hair collected from a horse’s mane and tail. Horsehair has a smooth texture and a soft luster. It comes in a variety of colors – black, white and subtle shades of brown. Strands of horsehair are woven into braids to form bracelets, necklaces, earrings and barrettes. The art of horsehair weaving dates back to the Victorian era. Braiding is done by hand, creating the most intricate of patterns. The popular styles include three-strand, French, square, half-round and round braids.

Horsehair jewelry is made prettier and more valuable by interweaving the braids with pearls, gems or beads made of gold and silver. Finally, gold or silver clasps are woven at the two ends of the braid to make wonderful bracelets and necklaces. Suitable pendants can also be woven into the necklaces. Bracelets made of horsehair are quite elastic and fit perfectly on wrists. Barrettes made of horsehair perfectly complement a woman’s hair. They can be chosen to match or contrast with any hair color. Horsehair jewelry is quite strong and long-lasting.

A bracelet can be made using a hundred strands of horsehair around 15 inches long. A necklace can also be crafted using a hundred strands, but they should be at least 26 inches long. The horsehair can be clipped in bunches from the mane or tail, and it doesn’t hurt the horse a bit.

Horsehair jewelry is a beautiful and tasteful embellishment, and can be a meaningful present for horse-lovers.

Eight Ways to Sell Value – Not Price!

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 5:05 am

If you want to get paid what you’re worth here are eight ways to sell value – not price:

1. Be Unique. If there is nothing that differentiates you from your competition you become common. Webster defines the word common as, “ordinary or not special” and the only way buyers select one common service over another is price.
Take inventory of your skills, experience and knowledge. Are you a specialist in some area? Are you an expert in certain facets of your business? These and other differentiators can make you unique and valuable to a select group of clients.

2. Choose Your Clients Carefully: Don’t ever let your clients choose you or you will be at their mercy. If a deal is going to close successfully, the true professional should be in control, not the client.
To begin controlling your business, write down the attributes of the people you want as clients and then go out and get them with targeted marketing. I hope the first item on your list of attributes is that they are people you enjoy spending time with. Being a business owner is far too difficult to work with people you don’t like just to earn a living.
Turn away people who don’t meet your criteria. When you reject or refer clients it tells the world that you don’t just work with anyone, you are selective which raises your perceived value. It also makes you unique from other businesses who will work with anyone who can bring them a paycheck.

3. Set High Standards: If you work with anyone and everyone your value drops. If people have to qualify to work with you your value increases. Of course you know that there are prospect who will ask you to give them a bid with no intention of ever buying from you. They’re planning to use your bid to leverage a discount with their current vendor or any one of a dozen other reasons that they want your knowledge but not your services. Then there are buyers who will waste your time and then purchase through another vendor (probably a relative).
Don’t ever meet with a potential client until you ask a logical list of questions to determine their seriousness and loyalty. You need to know their motivation and if they are interviewing other vendors. You also need to know if they’re financially qualified. If you don’t have serious, financially solvent, and loyal clients, why waste your valuable time with them?

4. Compete On Value, Not Price: No disrespect intended to other business models, but it doesn’t take any special skill, experience or knowledge to compete on price. All you have to do is be the cheapest, but this is a losing game.
Some people may remember the gas price wars of the 1960’s and early 1970’s when there seemed to be a gas station on nearly every corner. To gain market share, one would cleverly lower its price, but then all the others quickly followed suit and the only result was that everyone’s profit margin was reduced.
The way to get paid what you’re worth is to visibly demonstrate your value to your clients. Competing on price does not create value.

5. Create Value In The Eyes Of Clients: Frankly, most people throughout the country believe that people in sales do little to earn their commissions. This is our fault because we should be educating them about how hard we work before ever accepting them as clients.
Keeping my prices firm was a problem until I started tracking of all the different duties required to earn my pay. I developed lists of activities I do for customers. This amazes clients because most have no idea how complicated their orders sometimes can be (whether it’s manufacturing, servicing, fulfillment, etc.)
Since I created these lists I’ve never had to cut prices. If a prospect asks for a discount I simply show them the list and say, “Here are just some of the activities I must complete to earn my money. Why don’t you point out the things that you’d be willing to do instead of me. If you save me time then we can talk about saving you money because I earn every penny I get.” When confronted with a list that runs nearly ten pages long their eyes glaze over and they usually respond with something like, “You’re the expert, I expect you to do this work!” To which I simply say, “If you want me to do all of these activities on your behalf then you need to pay me what I’m worth. If you want to pay less, I’ll see if I can find someone who will do less and maybe they can save you some money.”

6. Educate Your Clients About How Much You Make. After speaking to thousands of agents all over the country for the past 15 years it’s clear to me that the average prospect is clueless about how your prices are determined, factoring in overhead and other expenses we have to run our businesses.
Most business owners face the reality of having to pay 33% federal, 10% state and 13.2% self-employment costing a total of 56.2%. As a result, clients often say, “Wow, you are underpaid for handling all these activities for me!” This was exactly my intent by taking the time to explain how I earn my money and how little I actually keep. This way they never try to cut my prices because they know that, like them, I earn my money and I don’t make as much as they may have previously thought.

7. Provide value that no one else offers. When prospects do business with me, they get a complete outline that explains my process from start to finish. It also includes samples, a list of service providers that could be involved in the process and much more. No other competing business offers any of these benefits, so if a client wants to work with me they must pay what I ask.

8. Reject price shoppers. Studies show that only 15-18% of people make their decision to purchase a product or service primarily based on price. This means that the majority of clients appreciate value and are willing to pay for it – if they see it.

Don’t forget that real professionals earn their money by helping clients maximize value, minimize costs, save time, and much more. If potential clients don’t appreciate this then feel free to refer them to your competition.
You don’t need every prospect and you certainly don’t need every buyer to be successful. If all someone wants is a cheap transaction, send them to a vendor who competes on price and wish them both luck!

What Is a Doula?

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 3:53 am

A doula is something between a midwife, and a pre-natal instructor. The word originally came from the Greek, where it meant a woman’s personal servant. And while doulas today still serve the needs of women, they are very specific needs related to pregnancy, birth and recovery.

Doulas do not prescribe drugs or take any medical intervention techniques in the care of a pregnant woman or the delivery of her child. As such, practicing doulas in the U.S. or Canada, are not required to be licensed.

Instead, these women help to prepare a mother physically and emotionally for the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. During this time she will offer emotional support, diet and general health information, physical comforts such as massage, and a steadying presence for a woman who is experiencing one of the greatest changes her body or life will ever undergo.

Depending on your location and availability, a pregnant woman may have one doula who is with her right into the postpartum period, where the birth having occurred, she will continue to offer emotional support, coping skills, instruction and help with infant care, and help for the family to integrate this new addition. Or, it’s possible that you may have the option of a doula for the pregnancy and birth, and a second one for the follow up weeks after the baby arrives.

A 1998 study presented in Mothering Magazine, presented statistics that doula assisted pregnancies/births experienced 50% less caesareans, 40% fewer forceps deliveries, 25% shorter labors, and 60% fewer request for epidurals.

Theory on How to Fix the World

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 7:43 pm

You see after traveling the world and every city in the United States over 10,000 people and many smaller ones, too many to list in fact, I have come to the conclusion that as great as all this is. Quite Frankly, it isn’t good enough.

Therefore my next project is, I want to fix the world or rather I want everyone else to care enough to look around; start by looking in the mirror and figuring out what they can do to fix the world. Too be part of the solution not the problem.

Your comment; “please notice me” is all wrong, it is not about “ME” or that entity we call “Lance” it is about each and everyone of us and the whole of humanity together, thus the mission statement at;

www.LanceWinslow.org

Personally in my retirement I am trying to be low key, a little hard considering the personal will and my drive at this level, it kind of sticks out whatever one does, hazards of “pressing on” perhaps.

It is silly to think that I “didn’t get much attention growing up” in fact just the opposite to the other extreme and throughout the teens, career and even now, as “action” is always awarded in the life experience, people just notice those who are winning the race, sometimes they love you, sometimes they hate you; but you are always noticed, it is just the way it is.

It would seem to me, that this particular shoot from the hip categorization of the one we call “Lance” is not right, not only because it simply isn’t so, but it is an attack one’s personal character and serves no purpose. Thus such a characterization is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

If everyone would turn on their brains and show a little effort rather than living in mediocrity and learn to think again, then we can fix the world. What do I want the world to think? It is not what, but how, looking at all perspectives, understanding rather then simple stimulus responses and reactions. We need to teach the World to think.

Until then all we have is linear thought and we are stuck in a circular cycle doomed to repeat the sound and fury of past periods. For those cynics that think the world cannot be fixed, I disagree, I know it can, in fact I’d bet on it and thus I have put my efforts in to commit my time to the cause, for however long it takes and persevere to incrementally make this paradigm shift.

1.) Teach people to think to solve their own problems and those problems around them.

2.) Identify all the problems, which plague humankind the World over.

3.) Strategize the Best Possible Solution for all concerned without trampling the individual. (what is good for the one is good for the many).

4.) Set the human race up for future periods, by fixing the World in the present period, not passing the unfinished job off to the next generation.

5.) Celebrate victory and move onto the next level together.

As far as Car Washing is concerned it was good training, as we need to clean up the world up; unfortunately in doing so, I noticed that first we must remove the traffic jams impeding the forward progression of the human race. Think on this in 2006.

Cash Loans for Unemployed – for an Instantaneous Response to Needs of the Unemployed

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 12:23 am

Unemployment is generally supplemented with several other vices like poverty and indebtedness. As if these are not enough, several contingencies start making their demands, all at once. This harries the individual to the point of contemplating suicide. A ray of hope lies in cash loans for unemployed – a unique financial product that provides instant cash loans for the jobless individuals to meet the contingencies at the earliest.

Cash loans are the best financial weapon that is available to a borrower in these situations. An unemployed person, because of his bad financial state and the absence of a stable source of income, is considered a risky proposition when it comes to offering loans. The principal concern is about the borrower’s capability to repay the loan in full. The borrower, already struggling to make the ends meet, is seldom seen as an individual with financial capability.

Cash loans however do not discriminate on the basis of status of employment. You are wrong if you thought that it is out of generosity that the lender is not taking your unemployment into consideration. It is only because of the high interest that these loans incur that they are very popular among the lenders.

Cash loans have gained a negative standing as being extortionately expensive. The high interest rates have contributed to the disrepute. Another dismal feature of cash loans for unemployed is the high late fees that it charges from borrowers who are late in repayment.

This must however not deter unemployed people from using the Cash loans for unemployed. It only shows how the ill effects of cash loans for unemployed be subdued to boost its advantageous aspects, the list of which is endless.

The very first advantage of a cash loan for unemployed is the speed with which they make finances available. In fact this is the primary criteria to rate cash loan providers for selection. While making the search for lenders, one would encounter many lenders who just promise to approve the cash loans early; but when it comes to deliver on the promise, they dither. A survey of the time required by lenders will be beneficial as a benchmark and to be used to command a similar quality of service from the lenders.

Another important feature of cash loans for unemployed is their indifference to the credit history of the borrowers. This means that the borrowers whose credit report is marked with defaults and County Court Judgements also get quicker finance through cash loans for unemployed.

The amount of money that the cash loans for unemployed give access to is smaller. In the general sense of the term, a cash loan is used as a payday loan by people who are employed, as an advance on their next paycheque. In case of the unemployed borrowers, since there is no stable source of income on which to base the cash loans for unemployed, the borrowers are allowed to repay the loan after they hope to regain employment.

Cash loans for unemployed, as mentioned above carry an inflated rate of interest. Since it is a short term loan, being charged a high rate of interest is no rarity. A further push to interest rate is given by the unemployment of the borrower and the resultant risk. So if you are taking a cash loan for unemployed, then you must be prepared for the inclusion of these factors into your interest figure. What you can prevent is the margin that the loan providers try to earn over and above the factors mentioned above. This is by choosing a lender who offers cash loan for unemployed at standard rates. Choosing an appropriate lender is generally not a simpler process and would be time consuming unless proper techniques of selection are employed.

Proper vigilance and prudence while deciding the terms of the cash loan for unemployed will be necessary. By following standard selection procedures and basing decisions on rational principles, borrowers will ensure that the cash loans for unemployed successfully accomplishes its purpose of offering financial assistance during unemployment.
